Hair loss happens to the best of us. Even the (so-called) sexiest, most attractive people on earth- celebrities. Knowing even movie stars have hair loss can make us feel a little less alone. Here's a few of the rich and famous amongst us that have admitted they have alopecia.

Selma Blair

Selma Blair, the beautiful brunette known for her roles in Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde, had her son back in 2011. After the birth, she revealed postpartum hormone fluctuations had caused her to have hair loss. Instead of hiding her alopecia, Blair spoke out about the issue. She wanted other new mothers to be aware that its common and normal to have thinning hair or hair loss after pregnancy. Your body is dealing with crazy fluctuations in hormone levels and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Hair loss after pregnancy usually resolves itself after a few months.

John Travolta

The movie Grease was released over 40 years ago. It's no surprise that John Travolta's looks have changed quite a bit since the iconic role. Age has caused his hair to thin and recede. However, Travolta doesn't let it get him down. He's tried hair transplants, hair pieces, and has also embraced the loss, by shaving his head. Fans don't seem to mind one bit. They love his look, both with hair and without. In fact, some think he looks even more dignified and handsome with less hair.

Keira Knightley

Regular dying and changing hair color caused Keira Knightley to lose her hair. In an interview with InStyle, the actress said, "I have dyed my hair virtually every color imaginable for different films. It got so bad that my hair literally began to fall out of my head!" Knightley admitted she'd been wearing wigs for the last five years. The 34 year old has been called, "the most beautiful woman on the planet."

Matt Damon

In the last few years, Matt Damon's hair has thinned and receded quite a bit. While he's not bald, he does still have significant hair loss. The movie star and screenwriter has sported hair pieces at times, but he's also embraced the look by keeping it short and simple. Fans agree that he still looks great, even with hair loss, which is completely normal for his age.

Tyra Banks

Yes, even world-famous supermodels have hair loss. Tyra Banks told the Wall Street Journal that stress gave her alopecia. The gorgeous model had so much going on in her life, that the stress really began to take a toll on her health. Stress is actually a very common reason for hair loss. There's a reason people blame their kids for their receding hairline. Kids, especially teenagers, are stressful. But so is work, relationships, health problems, there are so many stressful issues in our world. The good news is, once the stress calms down, the hair will often grow back as well.

These are not the only stars to have alopecia. Jack Nicholson, Jada Pinkett Smith, Charlie Sheen and Matthew McConaughey have all had hair loss. Alopecia can be caused by a variety of reasons. With men, it's often a normal part of the aging process, but it can be caused by other reasons as well. Women can experience hair loss with aging, but younger women will often see it first with issues like stress or pregnancy. It's a completely normal part of the human experience.
